New Zealand Hunting

Home to some of the world's most beautiful landscapes, New Zealand is a must-visit destination.  It's unique, predator-free ecosystem has allowed populations of game animals to flourish and grow.  Whether hunting red deer in the lush forests or Himalayan Tahr on the mountain tops, New Zealand's first-class hunting and scenery are sure to make a trip-of-a-lifetime.  

 

Our hunts are primarily divided into two categories: forest hunts and alpine hunts.  The forests are home to many deer species, including the famous red deer and fallow deer.   Alpine species include the sure-footed Himalayan Tahr and chamois. Those looking to participate in alpine hunts should be in good physical condition.  By request, we also offer helicopter drop-off at the top of the mountains to save time and energy. Both forest and alpine hunts may be combined in a custom trip package.  You may also hunt additional species such as wild goats, sheep and hogs.  We train in all firearm handling and proficiency and employ spot and stalk techniques.

Our cozy hunting lodge and delicious meals await after a day afield.  ​Take time to relax, enjoy a beverage and soak in the outdoor spa while enjoying the beauty of the property.  Also take a day to enjoy a scenic horseback ride around the mountains surrounding the lodge.

Our New Zealand hunting season runs from March through August.

Recommended Package

March-August

7 days, 2 person minimum

1 Red Stag, 1 Chamois

Additional animals may be hunted and added to any package

Day 1:

  • Pick up in Christchurch and drive to the lodge

  • Firearm safety training and instruction

  • Enjoy classic New Zealand cuisines and relax 

Days 2-4:

  • Hunt the lush forests for Red Deer 

  • Other forest species such as fallow deer, goats, sheep or hogs may be added on to any package

  • Retire to our comfortable lodge at the end of each day

Days 5-6:

  • Hunt above the tree line for chamois

  • Tahr may also be hunted and added on to any package

Day 7:

  • After breakfast, enjoy a full horseback trek through the surrounding mountains

  • Picnic lunch on the mountain ridge

  • Short hike down the hill then finish riding back to the lodge

  • Return to Christchurch
