Columbia River Sturgeon Fishing Adventure (Oregon)

A natural waterway border between Oregon and Washington, the Columbia River is a designated scenic area, home to the white sturgeon, North America's largest freshwater fish. Spend a fun-filled day on our boat out of The Dalles, Oregon, located east of Portland along a short, scenic drive in the Columbia River Gorge. Be ready for some action, though! After a vigorous fight, expect to catch and release a six to ten foot-long fish weighing a few hundred pounds.  

 

Sturgeon fishing runs from July through September with August being the peak fishing month. The Sturgeon Fishing Adventure may be added as a day trip at the beginning or end of any other fishing adventure, or scheduled as a one-day trip.  We can accommodate up to six people.

Our Columbia River Sturgeon Fishing Adventures are most popular as an "add-on activity" to our other outdoor adventures, but seem to be a highlight of every trip!  Sturgeon fishing can also be booked as the main activity of your adventure and we recommend 1-2 days fishing for these unique fish.

Day 1:

  • Morning pick up in Portland

  • Drive through the scenic Columbia River Gorge to our fishing boat

  • Safety and fishing instruction

  • Catch huge fish all day!

  • Stay in a nearby hotel for the night

Day 2:

  • Spend another action-packed day reeling in these freshwater monsters

  • Return to Portland
