Sichuan Province, best known for its towering mountains and winding rivers,  is the birthplace of all the world’s Giant Pandas.

Your guide will meet you the day before the tour begins at Chengdu International Airport and transport you to your hotel. The tour group will convene the morning of Day 1.

​

Days 1-4 are spent in Chengdu proper experiencing the sights and sounds of the local markets, parks, famous Sichuan cuisine, affordable shopping, as well as the world-renowned Sichuan Opera. Guests will be treated to the best hot pot restaurants in Chengdu.

​

Day 5 will find us in quiet, out-of-the-way Giant Panda Valley where pandas and playful red pandas roam in open enclosures.

​

Day 6 is spent exploring the 2000 year-old engineering of DuJiangYan dam, which feeds the MinJiang River into the floodplains of Chengdu. As the birthplace of Taoism, ancient temples and magnificent gardens dot the landscape.

Day 7 on our way to Mt. Emeishan, one of the four sacred Buddhist mountains, we will embark on a short boat ride to see the world’s largest stone Buddha carved in the red cliffs rising out of the MinJiang River.

Day 8 takes us hiking through pristine forests along Mt. Emeishan’s crystal clear creeks. Keep your eyes peeled for the resident monkeys in the trees.

Day 9 returns the group to Chengdu Int’l. Airport.

All days require walking.
